Clarkston student pages in House of Representatives

Fourteen-year-old Sarah Koefod traveled to Olympia to page in the House of Representatives Jan 17-21. She was sponsored by her 9th District State Rep. Joe Schmick, R-Colfax.

Koefod is the daughter of Keri Koefod and attends Charles Francis Adams High School in Clarkston.

“I’m glad Sarah was able to come to Olympia and see first-hand the legislative process,” said Schmick. “It is important for our students to gain an understanding about how their government operates and how they can get involved.”

Koefod attended page school each day to learn about the legislative process. As part of her page duties, Koefod distributed documents and notes to legislators and staff on the House floor as well as around the Capitol campus.

Students between the ages of 14 and 16 who are interested in the page program must have parent permission, acceptable grades and a legislative sponsor. To learn more about the House Page Program , visit the web site at:
