Capitol Report with Rep. Joe Schmick


Rep. Joe Schmick, R-Colfax, talked with Capitol Report about the supplemental operating budget which has received partisan approval in the House.  Republicans, he said, do not favor the plan for several reasons.  One of these is the significant tax increases included by House Democrats.  Schmick believes that the budget, as it now stands, looks more like a bargaining tool for the majority party rather than a truly effective tool to move the state forward.  The Senate version of the supplemental budget is much leaner.
