Schmick and Dye to hold 9th District telephone town hall

Reps. Joe Schmick, R-Colfax, and Mary Dye, R-Pomeroy, are inviting 9th District constituents to join them for a telephone town hall on Tuesday, Feb. 25 from 6 – 7 p.m. to discuss the 2020 legislative session.

Only household lines will receive an invitation phone call. Residents wanting to participate via cell phone or from somewhere other than their home may call (509) 253-8513 anytime between 5:30 and 7:00 p.m. during the event.

“We traditionally have great participation in our district when we host these events,” said Schmick. “This is another way to hear directly from the people who sent us to Olympia to work on their behalf. We'll be able to share about some of the legislation we're seeing and then listen to questions from our constituents. I look forward to it.”

“Each year there are decisions we make in Olympia that have an impact on the lives of our citizens,” said Dye. “Hearing from our constituents while we're in the middle of the fight helps us better represent our collective values, priorities and principles.”

The telephone town hall is much like a radio call-in program. Callers who have questions can press the STAR (*) key on their telephone keypads to speak with an operator. As their turn comes up, callers will be “live” and can direct their question to the representatives.

For more information, contact Rep. Joe Schmick's office at (360) 786-7844 or Rep. Mary Dye's office at (360) 786-7942.

The 60-day 2020 legislative session is scheduled to end March 12.
