Rep. Joe Schmick joins KONA Radio to provide an update on his 2024 legislation
Rep. Joe Schmick, R-Colfax, joined Robb Francis and John McKay on KONA Radio’s “The Bottom Line” program to discuss new legislation he has introduced for the 2024 session.
The 9th District lawmaker talked about House Bill 2106, concerning library districts with an annexed city or town, which was prompted by an issue in Dayton last year.
Schmick is also hoping to exempt small counties from a new requirement to have a trained coroner’s office located inside every county by next January. Smaller counties cannot afford that cost – and they are forced to look at cutting other services to meet the requirement. Schmick’s House Bill 2132 says that any county under 45,000 people would be exempt from this new law.
