Dear Friends and Neighbors,

When the Democrats’ “high earners” income tax bill (Senate Bill 6346) had a public hearing in the state Senate earlier this session, over 61,000 citizens officially signed and said “NO!” Like many of us in the Legislature, it seems they felt that a “millionaire tax” today, will be “all of us” tomorrow. History shows that once enacted, a tax doesn’t go away and usually increased or expanded to capture more dollars for an ever-expanding government.

Ultimately, the bill was passed out of committee and then passed the Senate with NO Republican support. It is now scheduled for a public hearing in the House Finance Committee on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 8:00 a.m.

As of this afternoon, more than 56,000 people have signed in to the House committee AGAINST the state income tax. You can sign in and show your opposition (or support) by clicking here.

In addition, here are some recent media stories about the Democrat’s income tax plan:

I urge you to let your voice be heard! It will only take a few moments of your time to submit written testimony or to simply officially register your opposition (or support if you are in favor of the bill).

Sincerely,

Joe Schmick
